She subsequently recorded her debut album, Solidify, and she currently travels the country performing concerts. She has appeared on the Today Show, Ellen, and others. Amanda's book will share her own struggles as well as what she has learned in life that will hopefully lead young adults and older adults out of a media-driven culture and into a closer relationship with God.
Amanda says the point of the book is to help teens, young adults, and their parents recognize their own uniqueness and brilliance that comes from God, not the world. The book is also meant to help individuals understand the gift God has given them and to unwrap the candy coating that the world gives to make life seem more appealing when you aspire to a certain career or achieve a certain level of financial success. The author wants to help individuals realize the greater purpose of their life and to learn to give praise not to themselves but to the Almighty who created them.
Amanda exposes how the media has pushed America's young adults to believe that "get rich quick" is a way of life. Rather, the Bible calls each person to trust God for their every need and this is the framework in which individuals should live their lives.
Through the lens of her music career and television experience, Amanda will expose the motivations and agenda of the music and television industry to create awareness of the epidemic of self-idolatry and how to steer clear of its dangers. Through her recent experiences, Amanda will given an inside look at the entertainment industry as she encourages readers to "not stay idol" in a culture where being an idol, especially an American Idol, is something to be praised.
